This picture is very special to me. It turned out as I had hoped, which is rare for me.
The person in the picture is my brother

The smoke in the picture is real, I had to use a slower shutter speed due to the lack of light. The majority of the work here went into hue/color, contrast and the softening of the light.

The lighting on your brother rocks.. its in very much in stark contrast to the rest of the piece and really draws the focus there. I really like the smoke as well, but it almost seems as its layered on top, as opposed to flowing in with the person... doesn't quite have that "rolling fog" feel.. if you know what I mean. The rest of the piece is minimal enough that it leaves you guessing as to what is really there, and again, helps draw the attention to the ride side though. Very nice job.

I love great photographs like this one... Few elements, but huge result.

The lightning is awesome, and enhance very well the character...

IMO i wouldn't have used fog, but this is personal taste...

The setup is well chosen, looks like an old factory or something abandonned like that.

And I'm a sucker for blue tones, so this pic rocks!

This is a really good shot, I think it came out fantastically well... the lighting, the darkness, the solitary figure against the light. And most definitely the smoke rolling across the bottom of the image... There's a really strong feeling of loneliness, darkness, a deeper story to tell. Keep up the good work!

wow, this is your best piece ever... the luminous colour is amazing. i can't give you any advice, because this image is perfect just the way it is. i might would have wanted another description, but still, that is a personal matter. great work.

you definately have reason to be happy with this, the lighting and the smoke give the photo a real atmospheric feel, also love how you've composed it with your brother to the side of the image leaving lots of space to enhance the isolation. the only thing I might of done differntly would be to have your bro look down or straight ahead not in the direction of the camera, but its still fine as he is. :) (Smile) stunning work man! +fav
